Last year, approximately 6,500 people participated in the Special Olympics Sports and Arts Festival, including 1,055 special needs athletes and 450 artists. The Special Olympics program is one activity that unifies all of us.
On November 17th, Kadena Air Base and the U.S. military services including Marine Corps, Army, Navy and Air Force, in partnership with Okinawa City, Kadena Town, Chatan Town and Okinawa Prefecture Government (OPG), will host the 13th Annual Special Olympic Games and Art Festival for special needs Okinawan and American adult and child athletes.
Opening ceremonies for the Games will take place at 9:45 a.m., and we would be honored if you would attend and meet the athletes and artists.
